Interstate Batteries of Inland Empire Recognized as Best in Class

July 15, 2008

Dallas, Texas—Interstate Batteries recently announced during its biennial convention held in Washington, DC, that Inland Empire Distributor Larry Burke won the coveted Best in Class award—a prestigious honor among the international Interstate Battery System. This elite award was given to only three of Interstate’s 300 distributors serving 200,000 accounts throughout North America, with Mr. Burke excelling in the DODD National Accounts service category.

Carlos Sepulveda, President & CEO of Interstate Batteries, said, “A ‘Best In Class’ distributorship is exactly that—the BEST! For a distributorship to achieve this recognition, they have to work very hard and work very smart as the battery business has gotten increasingly complex and challenging. Congratulations to Larry Burke and his excellent team on gaining this outstanding recognition!”

Mr. Burke has been an Interstate Battery distributor since August of 1980. Currently located in Upland, they service over 1,100 Interstate customers and realize the importance of developing and refining business programs in order to continue their success. With that in mind, they have found innovative ways to promote brand awareness among consumers, and have achieved an extremely high level of awareness in the local market.

Mr. Burke attributes his success to dedicated employees, unparalleled service and treating people fairly.

“We are in the customer service business and satisfied customers are our primary objective,” said Mr. Burke. “Happy customers are the lifeblood of any business and we believe in taking care of our customer.”

Recently moving into a new 13,000 square-foot warehouse in Upland, boasting an All Battery Center retail storefront, has allowed Mr. Burke’s distributorship to better service retail customers, offering a broader base of products for the household consumer and the business owner as well.

“This move allows us to offer every battery for every need with 14,000 battery solutions ranging from watch batteries and cordless power tools to every battery in between,” said Mr. Burke. “Residents can always drop off their used lead-acid (automotive) batteries year-round at our location, an easy way to properly recycle batteries and help protect the environment.”

The Best In Class program was designed to recognize Interstate’s leading Distributors and to establish benchmarks for achieving even greater success throughout the system. Categories that Interstate distributors were eligible to win an award for include: DODD National Account Service, Specialty Products and Independent Local Dealer (ILD) Growth.
