Brothers Complete Daring 76-Day Voyage in Tiny Open Fishing Boat
Two Florida brothers, Ralph and Robert Brown, have successfully completed their heroic journey across the Atlantic in their humble flats boat. The 8,300 mile trip, called the I am Second Wounded Hero Voyage Crossing the Atlantic presented by Interstate Batteries, began June 27 and included more than 20 stops along the Northern Atlantic coasts from Tampa, Fla. up through Canada, Greenland and Iceland on their way to Frankfurt, Germany.

Interstate Batteries Rounds Up Food for Food Bank
On May 8, Dallas-based Interstate Batteries held its annual Brand Promise Day to celebrate company and employee success in the past year by teaming up with the Harvesting International Ministry Center. The event focused on the Interstate Batteries’ brand promise to "power the things that make life better" and challenged more than 300 employees to bring in 1,000 non-perishable food items. The team donated 4,500 items to the charity. Since 1987, H.I.M. Center has teamed with local businesses to address the issues of hunger in our cities and provide much-needed supplies. Interstate Batteries donated the items to the Mansfield food bank and H.I.M. Center, which will distribute to families, church organizations, soup kitchens and food pantries.

As Sunday, April 5 draws near, racing excitement can be felt at Interstate Batteries corporate office, located just 35 miles west of the almost 12-year-old Texas Motor Speedway track. Interstate was the title sponsor of the 1997 inagural Texas race, and at that time, sponsored the No. 18 Chevy driven by Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Labonte.
